Michael Ezra is a professor of American Multicultural Studies at Sonoma State University. He is the author of the book Muhammad Ali: The Making of an Icon (2009) and editor of the books Civil Rights Movement: People and Perspectives (2009) and The Economic Civil Rights Movement: African Americans and the Struggle for Economic Power. Dr. Ezra is also the editor-in-chief of the peer-reviewed Journal of Civil and Human Rights and the co-editor, with Carlo Rotella, of the book The Bittersweet Science (2017), which was named one of the best sports books of the year by the Boston Globe. Professor Ezra teaches courses in recent African American history and culture.
